The convicted Sajjan Kumar (80), who was the defendant in the 1984 anti‑rape case that created a nationwide stir, has died. While serving his sentence in Tihar Jail, he fell ill on Thursday morning and was immediately transferred to Safdar Jung Hospital. Doctors said he had already passed away.
